Message from Coach Jamey

Hello West Ranch Families,

I have recently had some more questions regarding tryouts this summer. I thought that I had made this clear but I think I need to do a better job. The last thing I want is for any of you to feel like you are in the dark, so here I am:

If you are not in the 6th period class this semester that DOES NOT mean that you have no chance of making the Varsity next year. I have heard many people say the 6th period class is a class for the Varsity. While it is true that I believe that the girls in the class are LIKELY to make the Varsity next year, it by no means is set in stone. Decisions will not be made until tryouts!

Some of the girls in the class may not make varsity next year. And some girls that are not in the class could make varsity next year. So please keep your head up, keep working hard, and set the lofty goal!

I also want you to know that I am working on the possibility of increasing the 6th period class size next semester. It has never been ideal that the class size be this small, but my hand was forced. I believe that there is a possibility of a large increase in class size in 2019, but I will make no promises. As I am still at the mercy of the administration, other in-season sports, and gym availability. Just wanted you all to know that I am trying.

Hope all are well! I am looking forward to next season already!
